From Tilt Packing to Stack Packing he has done it all. He now offers technical advice to clients interested in shipping boats and autos in containers. There are limitations as to what can be packed and we will put the safety of your cargo first before we offer any of these shipping methods. All containerized cargo will be packed at the facility in Charleston, SC.
Flat racks are an alternative to containerized shipping for destinations that might not offer Ro/Ro service or boats that are simply too large for containers. NCB Inspections, crane lifts and loading and securing to Flat Racks both at the Charleston facility and on the Ports of Charleston, SC for larger vessels are also offered as part of the Flat Rack Service.
Fly Bridge, Hard Top and Arch Removal (with or without electronics), Shrink Wrapping, Cleaning Services, Swim Platform Removal, Outboard Removal and Crating and many other services that might not be listed.
At the facility in Charleston, SC we have the capability of lifting up to 30,000 LBS (13,600 KGs) from your transport trailer to our hardstands. Up to 12,000 LBS (5,440 KGs) can be loaded to Flat Racks with cranes and forklifts on site. With the aid of a hired mobile crane, up to 50,000 LBS (22,680 KGs) can be lifted on site.
Cradles are manufactured at the Charleston facility for vessels 18’ and 1,200 LBS (545 KGs) up to 70’ and 100,000 LBS (45,360 KGs). These cradles can be made to custom fit your hull if manufacturer hull diagrams are available without the vessel being at the facility or we can measure to custom fit your hull when the vessel arrives.
Planet Safety can move boats up to 40’ LOA and under 15,000 LBS (6,800 KGs) that are on your own trailer or theirs. These boats must be less than 12’ wide and 12’ in height if they do not have a trailer, and no more than 12' wide and 13'6" in height if they are on a trailer (trailer included).

Storage services can be offered in a fenced in yard or indoors depending upon the size. The size and length of storage will determine the costs.
This will save you quite a bit of money. We consolidate cargo all of the time to costly destinations such as Australia and New Zealand, and many places in Europe. It can save you up to 50% of the standard freight costs. However, consolidating can take time. In most cases a consolidated shipment can be put together within 30 days but in some cases it can take up to 60 days depending on the destination.
